Not only is single-use plastic wrapping one of the largest contributors to the waste coming out of our kitchens, it can also leak nasty chemicals into our food. Tasmania owned and run company, Sustomi, are working to combat the single-use culture in Australia with beautiful handmade reusable food wraps. They are made using 100% cotton material, local Tasmanian beeswax, jojoba oil and natural tree resin. The resulting wraps are highly flexible, breathable and durable!
The Sustomi wraps can be used in a variety of ways, including to: cover bowls/plates, wrap sandwiches and wraps, cover blocks of cheese and wrap cut up vegetables/fruit. Depending on use, the wraps can be expected to last 6-12 months before they start to become worn and dry out. At this point they can either be refreshed by melting more wax or composted due to their 100 % natural ingredients!
