Making A Better World

We made a place in this world to support you in living a greener life. Contributing to a healthier planet has always been our guiding light, from the products we offer to the way we operate. We could not carry this through without our wonderful community- you, and your buying choices. At least 1% of every purchase made by you at Teros is donated to dedicated, incredible, climate and conservation projects.

This of course means that we are forever grateful for your support as it is because of your help through your decisions to buy mindfully for the love of our planet, that it has been possible for us to make these donations. Go people power!

Globally it has been a pivotal few years. We’ve had multiple reminders of how dependent we are on nature and how vulnerable we are due to the changes we are inflicting upon nature. We believe these should push us to act and not just love the planet, but live as if we love the planet! A motivation for us at Teros is to not just continue to support groups that are helping the planet, through our 1% for the Planet membership, but also to reduce our own footprints and to continually look further at any other paths we can take to a greener earth.

1% for the Planet is a global organisation that connects dollars and doers to accelerate smart environmental giving. Through business and individual memberships, 1% for the Planet inspires people to support environmental organisations through annual membership and everyday actions.

By volunteering to become a member, we are committing to donate at least 1% of annual sales to support environmental non-profit organisations.

We have or continue to support the following organisations who are doing important and inspiring work and speaking up for our environment.

The Tasmanian Land Conservatory is a not-for-profit, apolitical, science and community-based organisation that raises funds from the public to protect irreplaceable sites and rare ecosystems by buying and managing private land in Tasmania.

We thank the Tas Land Conservancy for all they do, As personal supporters and sometime volunteers with TLC, we’ve seen how they have helped protect habitats and given Tasmania’s unique plants and animals a better chance for the future. We’re proud that some of our 1% for the planet donations support the TLC in an investment in the long term protection of Tasmanian habitats.

Environmental Defenders Office (EDO) is the largest environmental legal centre in the Australia-Pacific, dedicated to protecting our climate, communities and shared environment by providing access to justice, running groundbreaking litigation and leading law reform advocacy.

The EDO act as a strong voice for both our local plants and animals and for organisations that are working to help the environment. They recently became a national organisation in order to better deal with the growing environmental crises around the country and to better withstand the government funding cuts. This means each state can draw on greater resources and expertise and become a stronger environmental advocate

With your help, we’ve been able to support the EDO with our 1% for the planet contributions.

The Bob Brown Foundation is a Tasmanian non-profit fund who champions the protection of our unique wild areas in Tasmania, some of which are under imminent threats.

They aim to help campaigns and activists who show real pluck and intelligence in protecting ecosystems, species and wild and scenic heritage. They work to protect more scenic land environments, wildlife and marine ecosystems in Tasmania, around Australia, in Antarctica and across our region.

The Foundation promotes the protection and enhancement of, and the provision of information and education about:

  • The wild and scenic beauty of Tasmania
  • The ecological integrity of Australia
  • Earth's wilderness
  • The happiness of humanity on Earth

The formation of Teros was driven by our desire to help the climate and the environment. Our existence is because of our concern for the climate. The impacts of climate will be hardest felt by the coming generation - we are inspired to see them so passionately speaking up for their future and The Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC) is at the forefront of this in Australia. As we see more young people taking more direct action to save our climate it’s never been more important to support their voices and actions.

The AYCC's vision is for a fair and just world, with a stable climate and healthy environment for our communities and future generations. That is really something we value strongly and with your help, we’ve been able to support the AYCC with our 1% for the planet contributions.

Environment Tasmania is the state's conservation council - uniting local environment groups and thousands of individuals around the world. Inspired by love and respect for nature, our community acts together to protect Tasmania’s unique environment, so that our families and future generations can enjoy clean air, clean water and some of the most spectacular wildlife, forests and oceans on earth.

In previous years we’ve been able to support Environment Tasmania with our 1% for the planet contributions.

The Bicycle Network is Australia's biggest bike riding organisation, supporting nearly 50,000 members nationwide. They believe in liveable place where people are physically active. We understand that the more people who are riding bikes, the less they are using cars for transport. The less cars on the road the less plastic in our oceans, the less fumes in the air, the more healthier and happier our earth and ourselves will be. Supporting the bicycle network aligns with our values of living a greener lifestyle and the bicycle network help people feel safer and more secure whilst cycling.
