PlayAbels Playing Cards

PlayAbles combines traditional playing cards with 54 stylised images of beautiful Tasmanian Abels, including some of Tassie's better known peaks, as well as some hidden gems. Where possible, the names are written in palawa kani- the traditional language of the Tasmanian Indigenous People, alongside their English name.

Dimensions: Length: 9 cm, Width: 6.5 cm, Height: 2 cm

Making a difference:

  • 100% of PlayAbels profits go to supporting Tasmanian wilderness conservation, currently the Tasmanian Land Conservancy
  • Cards help educate people of all ages about our island landscapes
  • Acknowledgement of Indigenous place names helps support Indigenous voices in the conversation around sovereignty
  • Designed and made locally in Tassie

  • Cards are glossy, high quality and Australian Poker Standard size
  • Each card includes a picture of an Abel, its name, Indigenous name where possible, its height, Abel number, and rock type that the peack is made out of
  • Standard deck of 52 cards plus 2 jokers

PlayAbels playing cards were the fun winter hobby of a local Tassie mountain lover, Charlotte Blake. While expressing her love and appreciation for Tasmanian wilderness, she notes that she can never have the same deep connection to the land as those who have lived on it for the past 40,000 years. She hopes these cards allow you to share these special places with special people, wherever you play!
